We also believe the competitors product does not encourage good habits, its forces them. Nobody likes to be forced to do anything.
After calculating your savings please come back!
For those people who are satisfied with averages we have provided the following savings statement:**
If a individual reduces their time spent in the shower by 5 minutes, they should save the household $11.98 per month, if your water heater is electric. If your water heater is gas, each individual saves the household $6 per month. Simply multiply the # of shower takers by the savings and you have calculated the monthly savings.
For this example, a family of 2 whom each spent 5 less minutes in the shower each day, would save $12 per month using gas or $23.96 if using electricity to heat the shower water. If you reduce your time spent in the shower by 10 minutes per individual, your savings are doubled. Yearly savings are $143.96 with a gas water heater and $287.52 with an electric water heater.
The water savings calculation is even more simple. For every reduction of 5 minutes spent in the shower, the household saves 12.5 gallons of water per shower. In a 2 person household, 750 gallons of water are saved each month. That is significant. (Based on a 2.5 gallons per minute shower head)
** In the following examples we used the following energy costs:
Water = $2.30 per 1000 gallons
Sewer = $1.84 per 1000 gallons
Electricity Costs = .20 per KWH
Gas = $1.45867 per CCF
The Shower Professor wants you to understand the total savings you can achieve by using our timer. This includes water, gas, electricity and sewer. Below we have provided a link to a savings calculator. This is also a link to a competitors product. You will notice that unlike our $5.99 timer, their product costs $114.99.
We need to tell you that the tool and calculations can be difficult.You will need copies of your utility bills to accurately calculate your savings. In addition, you will need to do a small amount of math to see true, accurate numbers for your area of the country.
